You saw me standing by the wall, corner of a main street And the lights are flashing on your window sill All alone ain't much fun, so you're looking for the thrill And you know just what it takes and where to go Don't save a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No, don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after Feel the breeze deep on the inside, look you down into your well If you can, you'll see the world in all his fire Take a chance like all dreamers can't find another way You don't have to dream it all, just live a day Don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No, don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after Pretty looking road, I try to hold the rising floods that fill my skin Don't ask me why I'll keep my promise, melt the ice And you wanted to dance so I asked you to dance but fear is in your soul Some people call it a one night stand but we can call it paradise Don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after No, don't say a prayer for me now, save it 'til the morning after

It's a long way from where I'm staining It's a long road that I have still to tread If you're here with me then I know that there's no need to be afraid O my love, can I tell you how I feel? But you don't need me and I know that things will never be the same You're too far from where I'm standing Been gone too long you've strayed too far ahead And you don't see me for the air is thick with words we left unsaid Oh my love will you tell me where you are? But you don't hear me for you've gone where I won't see your face again Been too long where I am standing, been here so long don't know which way to turn And I feel keenly that you left this place a long, long time ago Oh my love, where the hell do I go now that I see clearly that the moment's gone and I am here alone?

about

The result of two years of writing, producing and recording, the album is a breathtaking and bittersweet reflection on life and loss, full of texture and nuance.
The album's key moment is perhaps Save a Prayer, a plaintive piano-led elegy that is at once melancholic and uplifting. Other standout tracks include The Dance, an eerily beautiful song sung from the perspective of a music box ballerina, A Lady Always Knows When to Leave, a nostalgic lament to lost love, and the unforgettable, a cappella Chalk Marks in the Rain.
